Will Otoist work with my car?
Otoist supports any vehicle with a standard OBD-II port — that's nearly every car sold globally since 2001 (gasoline) and 2004 (diesel). Advanced manufacturer-specific data depends on the vehicle's ECU.
Do I need to visit a mechanic to install it?
No. Installation is 100% plug-and-play. The OBD-II port is usually within arm's reach of the driver's seat. Plug it in, pair it in the app, and you're done in under a minute.
Does it drain the car battery?
The device is engineered for low-power standby and includes automotive-grade voltage protection. On a healthy battery and regular driving, impact is negligible.
What happens to my location data?
Your data is encrypted in transit, stored in secured infrastructure, and never sold. You control retention, access, and export, and you can delete your account and history at any time.
Do I need a separate SIM card?
No. Otoist ships with an embedded SIM and global connectivity included in the subscription. There's nothing to set up.
Can I manage multiple vehicles?
Yes. A single Otoist account supports unlimited vehicles. Fleet operators get a dedicated web dashboard with grouping, driver assignment, and reporting.
What if the car goes out of cellular coverage?
The device buffers data locally and uploads it as soon as the network returns, so your trip history stays continuous.
How do I cancel?
There are no lock-in contracts on consumer plans. Cancel any time from the app — your data stays accessible until you choose to delete it.
